Social media reacts to Rangers goal from Kemar Roofe that even had Chris Sutton applauding

Kemar Roofe’s goal caused a social media meltdown during a downpour in Wallon.

The striker scored from his own half in the final minute of Rangers’ 2-0 win over Standard Liege – the first time Les Rouches have lost at home in Europe for 15 games.

The goal even had outspoken pundit Chris Sutton reaching for his Twitter account to congratulate the Rangers striker.

@DavidKerr43: “Dribbled the ball around three players whilst wading through a river of a pitch, looked up and lobbed the keeper from inside the Rangers half. European goal of the season! Beat that!”

@hamilton_16: “That roofe goal is surely the goal of the tournament the hold up play then the finish was brilliant.”

@Innes1690: “Announce Puskas award.”

Some were even more excited.

Roofe caught Arnaud Bodart by surprise – and plenty others.
