'This is the Ryan Kent we have been looking for': Fans react to 'sensational' Rangers players in 2-1 win over Aberdeen

It might have been uncomfortable watch for the final few minutes but Rangers supporters were feeling good after extending their lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership to 22 points.

As well as the points advantage earned with three at Aberdeen, the win at Pittodrie also saw the return to prominence of two misfiring Rangers – Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

Morelos’ double won the day and @CameronnTaylorr tweeted: “Not our best game by a long way but it’s great to see Buffalo back on the score sheet and 3 points on the road. Onto the next one.”

Martin Couper: “Make no mistake, a win at Pittodrie is a great result. Every single time we play Aberdeen, they raise their game - more so than against any other team. A brief lapse in concentration let them back in the game, but we saw it out and that’s a significant change to Januaries of recent years, when our results have suffered.”

Tailor Scott: “Poor defending. Great finishing. This is the month of results over performances.”

Hellen Widdowson: “Great result again, fell asleep at times hence letting them in! Three more points! Great to see buffalo finding his scoring boots again!”

Dave Buchan warned: “Made that a lot harder than it needed to be. Took our foot off the gas. Need to keep up the standards for the whole 90.

@lewispatersonn: “Was a solid performance just got nervy. Wouldn’t say it was poor at all.”

@AlanBak98591872: “Putting the rivalry aside and as shocking as Celtic have been this season, Rangers have been fantastic grinding out result after result.”

@AidanMcgunnigal: “After the second goal we lost any urgency to score more or do anything in the game. It was comfortable in the end considering their goal was a fluke but that last half hour was hard to watch. I know winning ugly is the way of champions but I’d rather we don't do it every game.”There was individual praise too, for a pair of Rangers in particular.

@TheQuietKid18: “This is the Ryan Kent we have been looking for. Sensational.”

@topclasskennedy: “If Morelos starts scoring regularly again, then the rest of the league is in trouble.”

And Alexander Moffat added: “Three points in the bag, catch us if you can?”
