The SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte is reviewing evidence for Sunday’s contest in the Scottish Premiership, according to STV reporter Raman Bhardwaj.

Gardyne was at the centre of a flashpoint with several Rangers players visibly angered after an alleged comment made to striker Alfredo Morelos.

Manager Steven Gerrard would later say the alleged remark “doesn’t belong on a football pitch”, without going into details about what it was.

He also added: "There are campaigns for this sort of stuff to be eradicated out the game and we want to be at the forefront backing these campaigns.

"But as I say this wasn't one of my players so it's not really for me to deal with. I wanted to know if the referee heard what my players heard. He said he never, so from there I just moved on."
