Rangers youth heads to Falkirk as three Ibrox kids make SPFL loan moves

Rangers have capitalised on the return of Scottish football’s lower leagues to send three youth players out on loan for first-team experience.

Northern Irish under-19 cap Kyle McClelland is heading to join David McCracken and Lee Miller’s League One leaders Falkirk, while Adam Devine is also heading to the third tier with partick Thistle.

Northern Irish forward Chris McKee has joined Brechin City until the end of the season.

David McCracken told the Bairns’ website: “Kyle is a promising young player that we’re really happy to have at the club. He’s a big defender but is also good technically and we look forward to seeing how he develops over the rest of the season. He will bring some great competition to the squad and gives us some extra depth as we go into this vital stage.”

Jags manager Ian McCall, who is aiming to depose his former club at the top of the League One table, said: “I’m delighted to add Adam to our squad for the remainder of the season. He is a highly rated young player and I look forward to working with him over the next few months.”

The clubs had been part of the lower leagues under a two-month suspension of football but a Scottish Government announcement this week permitted the Scottish Women’s Premier league and the two bottom divisions of the SPFL to resume training and matches.

Recently Rangers have also secured loan deals for Ciaran Dickson at Queen of the South and Kai Kennedy at Raith Rovers in the SPFL Championship. Daniel Finlayson is on a season-long loan at St Mirren ahead of a future transfer to the Buddies.
