The Rangers team to face Celtic, including Steven Gerrard's crucial calls on Ryan Kent and in central defence

Steven Gerrard has named his starting team to face Celtic in this afternoon’s top of the table clash in the Scottish Premiership.

The home side could go an incredible 19 points clear of their second-placed rivals with an Old Firm victory, but Celtic do still have three games in hand still to play.

Rangers lead the way with 59 points from 21 games, while Celtic have 43 from 18 matches.

Steven Gerrard’s options have been limited slightly in recent days due to Scott Arfield’s ankle injury and Ryan Jack’s on-going recuperation from a knee problem.

The Rangers manager also had to make a call on who to partner Connor Goldson in the centre of defence and decide if Ryan Kent would return to the starting XI after being benched against St Mirren in favour of Ianis Hagi.

Here is who the Rangers manager has selected for this afternoon's match which has a lunchtime kick off at Ibrox, at 12.30pm.
