The Rangers midfielder scored against Galatasaray to help Steven Gerrard’s side qualify for the Europa League group stage, and has been a key figure in helping the SPFL Premiership leaders open up a nine-point gap on second-placed Celtic.

Arfield, capped 19 times, turned 32 on Sunday, November 1.

Portland Timbers’ Christine Sinclair picked up the women’s award.

Previous monthly winners included Lille’s £28m man Jonathan David and Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.
