Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo came in to Steven Gerrard’s side while Scott Arfield and Borna Barisic were rested for the win, but there was still a familiar feel to the team – and the goalscorers at the Global Energy Arena – with Kemar Roofe turning in a James Tavernier pass for the first-half lead and then the roles reversed and the captain found the net for his 15th of the season before an own goal from the home side. Jermain Defoe rounded off the scoring in the closing stages.

1. Allan McGregor - 8
Beat out a first half effort from Paton and tipped over a second-half dangerous cross that almost crept in. Always ready for the infrequent Ross County attacks. (Photo by Paul Campbell/Getty Images) Photo: Paul Campbell
2. James Tavernier - 9
Running out of superlatives to describe the on-song captain, but that would do his constant running a disservice. On target and laying on others and covering immense distance. Vital to this Rangers team. (Photo by Paul Campbell/Getty Images) Photo: Paul Campbell
3. Calvin Bassey - 8
Bounded down the left side, opponents bouncing off him, and epitomised Rangers' strength in depth. Not as accurate as Barisic with his crossing, but still delivers dangerous supply into the box. Photo: Ian MacNicol
4. Connor Goldson - 7
No issues at the back for the defender and his range of passing was again in evidence in an unremarkable but solid and comfortable performance. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group
