Steven Gerrard has revealed he is “not too happy" with the bans handed out to the five Rangers players who breached Covid-19 guidelines, especially for Nathan Patterson. The Ibrox boss believes the right-back is one of the “brightest prospects ever” in the position and it would be damaging for him to be banned. (The Scotsman)

Rangers have the upper hand over Celtic in the transfer market, reckons pundit Kevin Campbell. The Ibrox club have been linked with Peterborough United striker Jonson Clarke-Harris. Campbell said: “If you can get them for less than their market value then you’ve done really well. Rangers have outdone Celtic in that sense.” (Football Insider)

Dominic McKay is set to start his new role at Celtic three months early. The Parkhead club are heading for an overhaul this summer and McKay is a key part. He is expected to step down as chief operating officer at Scottish Rugby to get to work as Peter Lawwell’s replacement as the club’s chief executive. (Daily Record)

Derek McInnes has admitted it will be “hard to resist” if an exciting opportunity presents itself. He is currently taking a break but his aim is to get back into management, moving on from the Dons after eight seasons at Pittodrie. (Premier Sports)

Celtic goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas is being eyed by Greek side PAOK. The £4.5million summer signing has struggled since arriving and has fallen down the pecking order. (Daily Record)

Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain reckons a new manager, most likely Eddie Howe, can “convince” players who see their future elsewhere to stay at the club a bit longer. He said: “Whoever comes in might convince people who thought they wanted to play somewhere else to stay for another year or two." (The Scotsman)

Kevin Phillips believes Eddie Howe would be a “popular appointment” at Celtic but has noted the differences between managing a team like Bournemouth and a team like Celtic. He said: “He’s going to a club now where they aren’t an underdog, they’re expected to win every week and some managers adapt to that.” (Football Insider)
