Rangers linked with ex-Atletico Madrid starlet impressing with 12-goal season in England

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form in English League Two with the Shrimps.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers have cast their eye on the player numerous times this campaign.

Gomes has netted 12 goals in 37 league starts with his strikes worth 15 points for the Lancashire club who are in promotion contention and currently sit in the play-off spots.

He is capable of playing in a variety of attacking roles but has predominantly played on the left flank this season.

Born in Dakar, Senegal, the forward has Spanish citizenship.

Gomes has previously been on the books of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and moved to England as a teenager.

The player’s current deal expires this summer and could be a possible option for Rangers in the wide areas, his versatility likely an attractive attribute.

The Ibrox club have already secured Leon Balogun, James Tavernier, Allan McGregor and Steven Davis to new deals.
