Rangers' last Old Firm unbeaten season against Celtic - Where are they now?

Rangers could complete a full campaign without losing to Celtic on Sunday – for the first time in a generation.

Not since Dick Advocaat was in charge of a multi-million pound star-studded squad in 1999-2000 have Rangers avoided defeat to their nearest rivals throughout a full season – another record seeking to be re-written by Steven Gerrard’s squad this term.

Celtic have had several unbeaten Old Firm seasons in recent years – but the set was last completed by Rangers on March 26, 2000 when an emphatic 4-0 win over Kenny Dalglish’s side at Ibrox contributed to a double-winning season.

First half goals from Jorg Albertz and Andrei Kanchelskis put the home side ahead at the break and they were added to late on by Albertz again and Giovanni van Bronkhorst.

With Steven Gerrard’s team aiming to maintain the local bragging rights in Glasgow after winning the league and last tasting defeat to their rivals in December 2019 – we look back at the last Rangers side to finish the season unbeaten against their Old Firm rivals.
