Ross Laidlaw beat the captain’s low spot-kick away easily, after Alfredo Morelos was clipped from behind as he scampered into the box.

The save followed the defender’s miss at Pittodrie earlier this year, but it’s not enough to take him off the responsibilities from 12yards, according to fans.

@Bluebear721: “Should Tav be taken off penalties? No for me.”

@Jens1872: “Keep Tav on the penalties and let him get over this wee blip.”

@DallasTexasRSC:People saying Tav shouldn’t take penalties any more - seems short sighted. Keep Tav on the penalties until he regains confidence. The team are taking care of business, pulling him off them could do more damage than good.”

The miss didn’t affect Rangers too badly though with a Ryan Kent header sending them ahead before the miss was followed up by goals from Filip Helander and Joe Aribo.
