Steven Gerrard has revealed the club plan to sit down with Allan McGregor and discuss a new contract. There is a desire from the Ibrox boss to extend the veteran’s deal. In addition, Gerrard is also keen to keep Leon Balogun at the club next season. The centre-back’s current deal expires at the end of the season. (Scottish Sun)

Old Firm offer for winger

Celtic and Rangers have both made Alfie Doughty pre-contract offers. The Charlton Athletic winger is in the final six months of his deal with the Addicks. (Glasgow Times) They face competition from England with bids of around £650k made by three Championship clubs, including Stoke City, to land him this month. (Sky Sports)

Forster’s Celtic reveal

Fraser Forster wasn’t thinking about a return to Celtic in the summer having spent last season on loan at the club. The goalkeeper revealed all he “wanted to do” was return to Southampton and compete for his place at the club. He said: "Obviously it’s a club I love a lot. I’ve always been keen to come back and try and play here.” (Daily Echo)

Club ‘open to bids’ for Celtic target’

Exeter City boss Matt Taylor has admitted the club are “always open to bids” with Celtic linked with a move for winger Joel Randall. The 21-year-old has been in electric form for the League Two outfit with eight goals in 24 appearances. Celtic have not approached the club as of yet. (Scottish Sun)

Hearts have completed the signing of Gary Mackay-Steven. The Tynecastle club announced the winger has signed a two-and-a-half year deal. Chris Sutton believes his former club Celtic “must” offer captain Scott Brown a new deal “regardless of whether Celtic win or lose the race for ten in a row”. The pundit reckons the midfielder should stay to provide continuity as part of a summer overhaul even if he is not going to play many games. (Daily Record)

Striker on Rangers' radar

Fashion Sakala is a target for Rangers and could be offered a pre-contract deal. The Zambian international has been with Belgian side KV Oostende since joining from Spartak Moscow in 2018. Currently a team mate of Jack Hendry, on loan from Celtic, Sakala has netted 20 goals in 83 appearances for the club. There is also interest from the English Premier League and Anderlecht.
