Rangers blow as PSV 'make decision' on star man ahead of Champions League showdown

PSV Eindhoven will not allow star man Cody Gakpo to leave before their Champions League play-off with Rangers, according to a report.

The Dutch international winger is a wanted man with Manchester United set to launch a bid amid interest from English Premier League rivals Arsenal and Leeds United.

The 23-year-old is regarded as one of Europe's top emerging talents and could command a fee as a high as £50million.

The winner of the tie will progress to the lucrative Champions League group stages and the Eredivisie side are not prepared to lose their star man on the eve of such an important fixture.

PSV required extra-time to overcome Monaco 4-3 on aggregate to reach the play-off stage while Rangers overturned a 2-0 first leg deficit to defeat Union Saint-Gilloise 3-2.
