Rangers ACCEPT Alfredo Morelos two-game ban for Dundee United incident

Rangers have accepted a two-game ban for Alfredo Morelos after the striker was hit with a notice of complaint from the Scottish FA.

The Colombian’s case was fast-tracked following the incident in the 2-1 win over Dundee United on Sunday.

Morelos was booked by referee Steven McLean for jumping into Mark Connolly.

However, he was charged with violent conduct and an alleged use of forearm on the United defender.

Despite Steven Gerrard’s defence of the player after the match, Rangers have accepted the charge.

Morelos will now miss Wednesday evening’s Betfred Cup encounter with St Mirren and the league match with Motherwell at the weekend.

Gerrard, on Sunday, said: "I didn't see an elbow. If you look at him again, there's no elbow there. The referee saw it and dealt with it.

"It was a foul and a yellow card and it's been dealt with. But if you look at it again, next time I see you you'll say it wasn't an elbow."
