Steven Gerrard’s side successfully negotiated a high-scoring affair with Royal ANtwerp while the Czech Republic’s league leaders saw off Leicester City in the previous round.

Both will meet next month for a place in the quarter finals and Rangers fans are, on the whole, satisfied with the draw which avoided big guns like Arsenal, AC Milan, Ajax and Manchester United.

Brian Taylor: “That’ll do for me. Every game will be hard at this level now but I was hoping for Tottenham myself as our special one Stevie G would go head to head and see off the so called Special One.”

Ricky Baillie: “Was hoping for a glamour tie against United, but this will do! Got a great chance of winning this.”

@CF3Loyal: "I’m happy with that, will be a tough game after Slavia Prague knocked out Leicester in the last round but definitely qualifiable. Man Utd v AC Milan is a tasty draw, opens up a pathway for us to go further with at least one of the so-called big teams going out.”

@BigPringle: “A draw which both clubs are probably happy with, and I'm personally pleased to avoid the English teams. Stevie G will no doubt get the lowdown on them from Rodgers which can only help.”

@Euas04: “Not going to be easy but very much doable.”

Stuart Smith: “Fantastic draw, although wouldn’t fear anyone at this stage.”

@BWFCLoneStar: “It’s not one of the top teams, but they’re going to be dangerous after beating Leicester. So close to Granada or Molde which would have been the easiest possible.”

@DecCairns72: “Prague vs Glasgow? I swear I’ve seen this before...”

James Brown: “Watched them against Leicester good team but they’ll need to play like they did last night...”

@detarnlix: “Got to remain humble, there is no guarantee wins, and this team just put out a very good Leicster team, so they are now slouches. Should be a good tie.”

And Czech based Jan Cekal said: “Comparable teams, top of their divisions by a large margin, young progressive managers, it will be a great match!”
