'No fundamental issues': BBC pundit says 'everything looking positive' for Rangers

Michael Stewart and Ally McCoist both believe Rangers will be pleased in the aftermath of a 2-2 draw ith Benfica, despite conceding a two-goal lead.

The pundits analysed the match which saw Rangers go 2-0 ahead through Scott Arfield and Kemar Roofe before late goals for the visitors.

But in the cold light of day each believed the Ibrox side would be pleased.

Stewart, on BBC Sportsound, said: “Everything is positive for Rangers on the park at the moment. They've got nothing to look at and be overly concerned about the way they are playing – it's generally good, and yes they have conceded two goals but there are no fundamental issues.

"They're still in a great position to get out of the group.”

Summarising on BT Sport, McCoist said: “There’s everything to be very, very proud so far this season - unbeaten in the group and league, the positives more than outweigh the negatives. Take a step back and they’ll think they’re doing OK.”
