Lewis Ferguson in no rush to leave Aberdeen for Rangers

Football writers’ young player of year takes speculation in his stride

The 20-year-old has been linked with a summer move to Rangers, where both his dad Derek and uncle Barry played and he was in the youth set-up till the age of 13.

But Ferguson, contracted to Aberdeen until 2024, maintains that the transfer speculation washes over him as he hankers after honours with Derek McInnes’ men.

“I think the club do match my ambitions because I want to win trophies,” said Ferguson, who has landed the Double Tree by Hilton Scottish Football Writers’ Association young player of the year award.
