SPL Fanzone: Rangers

IF I say that the pitch-side highlight of the day was the reception Paul Gascoigne received, that tells you everything about the Rangers performance against a St Mirren side who passed and moved fluidly in the first-half.

We could have done with Gazza on the park and, although their equaliser came at the death, St Mirren deserved a draw.

Davis, Lafferty and sub McCulloch were slightly better than the rest, but everyone else seemed to forget that titles are won by ruthlessly closing out games like this after, as Graeme Souness famously put it, earning the right to play your game.

With tricky away games against a resurgent Hearts and then Four-games-a-season FC at Pittodrie, Rangers will now have to rediscover the energy, coherence and cutting edge that has deservedly taken us to the SPL summit.
