SPL Fanzone: Rangers

Seven consecutive away wins, Pittodrie and Tynecastle visted and six points secured. This Rangers side doesn’t look afraid of anything.

Once again Rangers started the game looking sluggish but improved markedly as the match developed and their superior passing and ball retention bypassed Aberdeen’s five-man midfield. It was a win secured by a team and not one or two individuals and Rangers showed real appetite, especially in the second half.

It was not a good day for Darren Mackie, who was lucky not to see red for diving in the box and then denying Sasa Papac a goalscoring opportunity. Losing Steven Naismith for months is a blow but, as Rangers showed after Jelavic was injured in a tackle with Ian Black last season, this side is more than the sum of its parts. And to think we were second favourites at the start of the season...
