16-YEAR OLD BOY CHARGED OVER BAILEY GWYNNE’S DEATH

A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the death of Bailey Gwynne, who was stabbed at Cults Academy in Aberdeen.

The school’s headteacher, Anna Muirhead, described Bailey as a “gentle and caring boy” and said his schoolmates had been left “devastated”.

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL TO BE HELD FOR BAILEY GWYNNE

Friends and family of the boy fatally stabbed at an Aberdeen high school will attend a candlelight vigil this evening in his memory.

Bailey’s classmates and relatives along with members of the local community are set to gather for the vigil at Cults Parish Church tonight, led by the Rev Ewen Gilchrist.

CRAIG WHYTE DECLARED BANKRUPT

The former owner of Rangers, has been declared bankrupt at the High Court in London.

The 44-year-old was confirmed as insolvent in the wake of a High Court battle with Ticketus, which accused him of luring it into a deal on false pretences.

It was alleged that Whyte had agreed to sell three years’ worth of season ticket sales to the company for £25 million, some of which, it is also alleged, he used to fund his takeover of the Ibrox club in May 2011.

SCOTTISH SPEED CAMERA EARNS £230,000 IN FINES

Figures revealed under freedom of information yesterday show that one single fixed roadside camera snared 2,368 drivers in the first ten months of this year – three times more than the second busiest site.

The statistics also revealed that 46 cameras failed to catch a single speeding driver last year and one had not recorded a speed violation in four years.
