Rangers takeover: Gregg Wylde waits on Fifa

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed Fifa now have the necessary paperwork to prove Gregg Wylde is clear to play for the club.

Wylde has been left kicking his heels on the sidelines for the last month since being signed by Coyle on a free transfer from Rangers after the Glasgow club went into administration.

Coyle is adamant Bolton, assisted by administrators Duff & Phelps, have categorically proven Wylde was made redundant and is owed money by Rangers.

The Scot is now hopeful Fifa will act quickly, so allowing winger Wylde to play his part in the club’s relegation fight over the last four matches.

“We’ve now sent the necessary paperwork, in conjunction with the administrators at Rangers, to show Gregg was not paid for three or four weeks before he left,” said Coyle.

“We’ve clearly shown he was made redundant, that it was not a mutual decision, that Gregg is owed money, that he never left with any money.

“Hopefully now, with the necessary paperwork having been lodged, Fifa can give us clearance to have Gregg involved in the last few games.

“All we can do now is await their decision. I wish I could tell you the decision is going to be today, but I can’t tell you that.

“As soon as I know, you will, because it will allow Gregg to be involved in the squad.”
