Rangers splash cash for Kim Min-su as starlet makes vow to Ibrox faithful - and more transfers to come
Ibrox side make 12th signing of busy summer
New Rangers winger Kim Min-su has vowed to give the Ibrox outfit “what it deserves” after sealing a big-money transfer from Girona.
Min-su has penned a four-year contract with Rangers after they spent in the region of £8.5 million to land the 20-year-old from the La Liga outfit. The South Korean could make his debut on Sunday when Rangers travel to Aberdeen to face the Dons at Pittodrie.
Min-su joined Girona four years ago and spent time on loan at FC Andorra last season. Rangers have been actively searching for new wide players and settled on Min-su after being linked with Frosinone’s Fares Ghedjemis and Brighton’s Amario Cozier-Duberry.

“I'm so happy to sign for Rangers,” said Min-su. “I know it's a big club with great, great fans. I want to help the team to be better every day, to be a good person, and to do everything I can to help the team win everything that comes our way.
“I have a lot of excitement and I believe I have the mentality of a winner. I want to face whatever comes next head-on and I’m going to give the club what it deserves.”
Rangers have the option to extend Min-su’s contract by a further year and he has been handed the No 10 shirt, which was worn by Mohamed Diomande last season.
Commenting on the deal, Rangers manager Derek McInnes said: “We are delighted to welcome Min-Su to Rangers. Strengthening our options in the forward areas has been a real target and focus for us throughout this window, and we believe he will add another exciting dimension to the squad.
“Min-Su is a talented young player with excellent technical ability, energy and a real desire to develop, and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Rangers’ spending isn’t expected to stop at Min-su, however, with the Ibrox club closing in on a £9m deal for Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy.
Rangers are in action on Thursday evening when they take on FK Jablonec in the Conference League play-off round second leg. They hold a 1-0 advantage from last week’s match at Ibrox.
