Rangers midfielder John Fleck completes Blackpool loan switch

Rangers have confirmed John Fleck has joined Blackpool on loan until the end of the season as the young attacking midfielder seeks more first-team action.

The 20-year-old has made the switch to Bloomfield Road following limited appearances for the Scottish champions this season.

He has featured just five times so far, with his only start coming against Arbroath in the William Hill Scottish Cup earlier this month.

Fleck was set to join Sheffield United on loan in August, along with Ibrox team-mate Kyle Hutton, but the moves fell through due to an error with the paperwork.

Blades boss Danny Wilson held talks with the player earlier this week about another attempt at a loan but has now lost out to the Seasiders.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist recently said a loan move in January for Fleck appeared unlikely after Kyle Lafferty was ruled out for a number of weeks through injury.

However, the Light Blues have now sanctioned the move with the npower Championship club, where he joins forces with former Rangers players Barry Ferguson and Danny Wilson.
