Rangers confirm 'serious' injury blow as two January signings ruled out of Falkirk trip

Striker could be ruled out of the rest of the title race

Rangers striker Ryan Naderi has suffered a potentially season-ending injury, manager Danny Rohl has confirmed.

The German, who signed in the January transfer window from Hansa Rostock in a £4.7million deal, was substituted at half-time during the 4-2 win over Dundee United last Saturday.

Naderi, who had scored the opening goal, his first in the Scottish Premiership having netted a double in the 8-0 win over Queen's Park in February, could now be ruled out of the rest of the title race.

Rangers are one point behind leaders Hearts at the top of the table with six matches remaining.

“We scanned him, he looks serious, let's see what it means in the following weeks, but for the next games he will be out,” he said. “This kind of injury you never know, every week it's important, we have to see.

“It's a shame for him, he worked really hard, a lot of good stuff off the ball, even some running, sometimes you don't recognise his hard work for the group.

“It's football, we said we need everyone in the squad, and this was a good step for Bojan [Miovski] as well, coming in to score, and in the last couple of weeks we have a lot of different players that scored.”

Rangers will also be without Tuur Rommens for the second match running after Rohl admitted the left-back - a £3m January arrival from Westerlo - will not recover in time to face Falkirk this weekend.

"Tuur Rommens had one more treatment this week," the head coach added. "This weekend will be too early, but we are hoping for the first/second game in the split, but that depends.

"We are prepared for Falkirk this weekend. It will be a good game; we want to finish strong ahead of the split."

Rangers’ injury woes may not stop there with Rohl admitting there are also doubts over the fitness of wingers Mikey Moore and Andreas Skov Olsen ahead of the trip to Falkirk Stadium.
