Rangers appoint director Norman Crighton

INVESTMENT banker Norman Crighton has been appointed to the Rangers board of directors, and will chair an Investment Committee at the club.

Crighton’s appointment as a non-executive director was announced in a Stock Exchange statement this morning. The Dundonian has 23 years of experience in the investment field, and is set to head up a committee whose remit will include “overseeing capital projects”.

According to the statement, Crighton has experience with “complex restructuring” of listed companies.

The statement concludes: “Mr Crighton will chair a new Investment Committee of the board whose terms of reference will include overseeing capital projects. In accordance with Rangers’ Articles of Association Mr Crighton will be subject to re-appointment by an ordinary resolution at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the Company on Thursday 19 December 2013.”

Rangers are reportedly keen to appoint Dundee chief executive Scot Gardiner as their new CEO.
