No Rangers move for Prince Buaben and Morgaro Gomis

RANGERS have denied making moves to sign former Dundee United pair Prince Buaben and Morgaro Gomis.

The duo’s agent, Ladi Salami, had been quoted as claiming Ibrox boss Ally McCoist was ready to swoop for the two midfielders. But a spokesman for Rangers insists the club have no plans to bring Frenchman Gomis and former Ghana international Prince Buaben back to Scotland. A statement released on the club’s official website read: “Rangers Football Club can confirm we have no interest in signing Prince Buaben and Morgaro Gomis. The players’ agent has been in contact with the club to highlight their availability however we have no intention of signing either midfielder. Rangers fans can keep informed with accurate information on club media channels.”

The report claimed Aberdeen and Hearts could also make moves for the duo, both signed for United in 2007 by Craig Levein. Gomis left Tannadice to join Birmingham in 2011, while Buaben moved to Watford at the same time.
