McLeish has faith old club will beat crisis

ALEX McLeish has admitted that he is worried for Rangers – but hopes they will emerge from their on-going crisis in a stronger position.

Speaking for the first time about crisis-hit Rangers, the Aston Villa manager says he finds it hard to believe just what has happened to his former club.

McLeish, who won the SPL twice, the Scottish Cup twice and the Scottish League Cup three times during his time in charge of Ibrox between 2001 and 2006, said: “I do worry about them and what will happen to them in the future.

“But I still have hope and belief inside me that Rangers will come out of this trouble that they are in at the moment.

“I do think that they will come out of it stronger. At the moment you have to say that it looks bleak.

“But everyone involved with Rangers has to believe that they will emerge from this stronger.

“I certainly hope that is going to happen and we have got to be positive and look forward.”

McLeish takes Villa to Wigan tomorrow on league duty.
