Marius Zaliukas offered Rangers deal

RANGERS have offered a contract to former Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas, the club have confirmed.

In a statement on Rangers’ official website, manager Ally McCoist said that the club “definitely” need another centre-back, and that the Lithuanian defender is currently considering the offer.

McCoist said: “Marius trained very well with us and I know Craig had a chat with the board and myself then put an offer to him.

“He has now gone back home to contemplate it and to have a think so hopefully we will hear from him soon.

Rangers have signed Steve Simonsen, Jon Daly, Stevie Smith, Arnold Peralta, Richard Foster, Bilel Mohsni, Cammy Bell, Nicky Clark and Nicky Law this summer.
