Forest eye third bid for Rangers’ Lee Wallace
Forest, managed by Billy Davies, have already had two offers for Wallace rejected by Rangers, and while the second of those was believed to be in the region of £900,000, it is understood the Ibrox club value the former Hearts defender at nearer
£1.5 million.
The 26-year-old, who has won eight full caps, joined Rangers from Hearts in 2008 for £1.5 million, and has been perhaps one of the most consistent performers in Ally McCoist’s team this season.

Davies has long been an admirer of Wallace and will be hoping Rangers’ precarious financial position may yet tempt them to sell before the January transfer window closes tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, winger Barrie McKay will spend the rest of the season on loan to Morton. McKay, 19, has been at Cappielow since last month and will spend the rest of the campaign with Kenny Shiels’ Championship side.
• Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka felt deep sympathy for Rhys Williams – reportedly a player who had been on Celtic’s radar – after the Australian defender sustained a freak Achilles injury that could rule him out of a second successive World Cup.
Williams, - part of the Socceroos squad which will compete in Brazil, was carried off on a stretcher and taken to hospital after twisting his body sharply just before the break in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Wigan.
“They will check him and we will know more soon, but it looks like a very serious injury for Rhys,” said Karanka. “His face and the doctor’s face were not good. He was crying and I feel sympathy for him. It is a very bad injury for him.
“I hope he will recover as soon as possible because he had a big chance to play in the World Cup so that will be a big incentive for him. All our feelings are with him, mine, the team’s, the staff’s.”
