Fan banned after setting off flare at Rangers game
Liam Bernard, from Coalburn in South Lanarkshire, admitted culpably and recklessly igniting a smoke-emitting flare, putting others supporters at risk of injury during the Scottish Championship clash at Palmerston Park in Dumfries.
Bernard, 17, was also hit with a £350 fine at Dumfries Sheriff Court.

Hide AdThe incident happened late in the first half of the match on Thursday evening.
Stephen Ferguson, football liaison prosecutor for the west of Scotland, welcomed the banning order.
He said: “Liam Bernard acted with complete disregard for the safety of other fans.
“Thanks to the swift action of the security staff, police and prosecutors, he has been brought to justice and less than 24 hours since the incident has found himself banned from all UK football matches for the next year.”
