Charles Green horse Ibrox comes 8th in debut race
Green, 61, moved to the south of France after exiting Rangers last year on the back of making around £1 million from the Gers.
The former Sheffield United chief is named as both owner and breeder of two-year-old Ibrox, which yesterday ran its first race in the 4.55pm at Pornichet-la-Baule, in the Loire-Atlantique region of France.

A 28-1 shot, Ibrox was one of 15 runners in the mile-long Prix du Grand Charpentier, but missed out on the £6666 prize money for first place.
It’s not the only horse with a name referencing Rangers, however.
The Rangers Racing group owned two horses, Ibrox - once ridden by future Grand National winner Ryan Mania - and Lady Ibrox, who both won three races during their careers, while Stewart Brown owns a horse named Blue Sea of Ibrox.
