RANGERS are set to offer youngster Andy Murdoch a bumper new deal to keep him at Ibrox.

Murdoch, 20, scored the opening goal in the Light Blues’ 2-0 win over Raith Rovers last Friday, in just his second start for the club.

And Derek Llambias has reportedly opened talks with Murdoch’s representatives to try and tie up the starlet on a long-term deal.

But it is being reported that Murdoch could put pen to paper sometime over the next week.

Rangers face the prospect of a stormy EGM in just a couple of weeks, with sections of the Ibrox support pushing for the removal of chairman David Somers, finance chief Barry Leach and McGill’s Buses tycoons James and Sandy Easdale.

But according to The Sun, the Ibrox hierarchy haven’t given up hope of holding onto power.

The club are also looking at a new deal for Under-20s goalkeeper Liam Kelly, who last night helped the development side into the Youth Cup semi-finals.
