The English Premier League clubs began pulling out of the Super League much to the delight of fans, pundits and players. While on the pitch, there was action in the Championship, League One and League Two.

Alfredo Morelos is keen on staying at Rangers next season. The Colombian striker is reportedly in talks with the club over a new contract despite a belief that he could depart this summer. The prospect of Champions League could keep the player at Ibrox. (The 4th Official)

Olivier Ntcham will return to Celtic in the summer. The French midfielder has failed to impress in his homeland with giants Marseille. Former boss Andre Villas Boas was unhappy with the signing and current manager Jorge Sampaoli doesn’t see him in his plans. Ntcham is still contracted to Celtic until 2022. Celtic interim boss John Kennedy confirmed his future “might” lie elsewhere. He is set for a sit down with new chief executive Dominic McKay later this week with Eddie Howe still the man expected to be manager next season. Kennedy said: You always have to prepare for that as it’s the same year-on-year if anything changes and depending what’s going on.” (Various)

Rangers are still waiting to hear whether their appeal against the bans handed to the five players who breached Covid-19 guidelines has been successful. The Scottish FA handed out a six game ban, two of which are suspended, last month. Rangers made the appeal and discussions have taken place but no decision has been made. (Scottish Sun)

Motherwell star Allan Campbell has been likened to England international Adam Lallana. The midfield dynamo is expected to leave Fir Park this summer when his contract expires with a number of clubs, north and south of the border, tipped to make a move. Motherwell assistant manager Chris Lucketti, who played with Lallana at Southampton, said: He was a different kind of player but you could tell at that age that he was going to progress to the levels he did. “But there are a number of players I’d seen and played against that you can tell are ready for the next level and Allan is definitely at that stage.” (Daily Record)

Leeds United wont make a move for Rangers star Ryan Kent with the winger set to stay at the club next season. The former Liverpool star was once the subject of a £10m bid from the Elland Road side with Marcelo Bielsa a fan but will turn their attentions elsewhere with Kent preparing for Champions League football. Celtic find themselves in a “precarious” position regarding the new manager search, according to former defender Allan Stubbs. The ex-Hibs manager believes there is not much choice if they can’t do a deal for Eddie Howe. he said: “If I was Peter Lawwell, Dominic McKay, Dermot Desmond, I’d be quite nervous right now. This is the conundrum, right now there’s no glaringly obvious candidates that stick out.” (Celtic Huddle)
