How the Rangers players rated in pulsating Europa League win 4-3 v Royal Antwerp

Steven Gerrard had a bittersweet Belgium trip with a dominant performance marred by defensive frailties, and a first leg advantage compounded by three key injuries.

The Rangers boss saw Kemar Roofe, Glen Kamara and James Tavernier limp out of the game which Rangers won thanks to two Borna Barisic penalties and a sublime strike from substitute Ryan Kent.

Joe Aribo gave Rangers the lead after a goalkeeping blunder but two mistakes from Borna Barisic allowed Antwerp level. Steven Davis was harshly penalised for a challenge in the box which left Antwerp ahead at the break and Rangers depleted.

But an impressive reaction from Rangers saw them take the game to their hosts though gaps were left at the back. Substitutes Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent made big impressions off the bench and Barisic atoned for some of his mistakes by converting from the spot in the absence of Tavernier, either side of a very well worked Kent goal which capped an enthralling and eventful 4-3 win for Steven Gerrard’s team.

Here’s how the Rangers players rated.

Player ratings scale - 10: One of the best performances you've seen. 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7: Good. 6: Average. 5: Poor, 4: Very poor. 3: A terrible day at the office. 2: Abysmal. 1: One of the worst performances you've seen
