How the Rangers players rated in vital 1-0 Old Firm win against Celtic

Rangers were far from their best against Celtic, but it was a different type of performance required to grind out three points against their Old Firm rivals and open up a 19-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

In the end it was decided by Calum McGregor’s second-half own goal, when Joe Aribo flicked James Tavernier’s corner onto the unwitting Celtic captain with 20 minutes to play.

Celtic had enjoyed a dominant first half but a half-time change from Steven Gerrard improved Rangers’ fortunes, aided further when Nir Bitton hauled down Alfredo Morelos after an hour and was shown a red card by Bobby Madden.

At times it was a one-man mission to keep Celtic out in the first half as the visitors overloaded the home penalty area. Unbelievable double stop early on and then even better tip to deny Griffiths. Would have been a different result without him.
