The home side laboured, but still return to the top of the league after being leap-frogged for a few hours by rivals Celtic.
Steven Gerrard had made four changes to the starting line-up after the win over Galatasaray with Steven Davis, Filip Helander, Ianis Hagi and Alan McGregor sitting out after the midweek win, and there was a noticeable dip from the Europa League high to this SPFL Premiership victory.
Here’s how David Oliver rated the performances of the XI and the substitutes at Ibrox this afternoon.
1. Jon McLaughlin - 7
What can you say? Eased back into the first team. Not required to make any saves and comfortable with the ball at his feet to link-up passing at the back. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
2. Borna Barisic - 5
Replaced after being injured in a clash with Regan Charles-Cook just after the hour. Had to deal with a lot of County's attacks on his flank and Charles Cook gave him a physical battle. Unlucky with a free-kick that clipped the wall in the first half. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
3. Leon Balogun - 6
As comfortable stepping out from the back as predecessor Lorenzo Amoruso watching from the TV gantry, but without the flamboyance. Slotted in beside Goldson as if he hadn't been away, however allowing the two free headers in second half is a concern for the centre-halves. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
4. Conor Goldson - 6
Ever dependable and steady but, like Balogun, guilty of switching off at second half set-pieces which fortunately weren't punished by poor County headers. Photo: Ian MacNicol
