How Rangers outperformed Manchester City in month of 55th league title win

Rangers were among the top 20 most popular sports clubs on social media last month as Steven Gerrard’s team clinched the SPFL Premiership title.

The club was ranked 17th for interactions on social network platform Twitter for March – registering a hit-rate in excess of 2m for their posts and messages.

Topping the chart were Spanish giants Barcelona, despite their Champions League exit, while the highest ranking British sports club was Chelsea, third with 6.75m behind Turkish side Galatasaray in second.

March included a 1-1 draw with Old Firm rivals Celtic plus the celebrations, posts and videos, from clinching the SPFL Premiership title on March 7.
