Rangers’ dropped points allowed Celtic to extend their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership

Even though Celtic were heading for a draw at Livingston on Wednesday, Neil Lennon could allow himself to be both shocked and amused by the fate of rivals Rangers.

The Northern Irishman had just witnessed Tom Rogic net a late equaliser at the Tony Macaroni Arena when he had been notified of Hamilton Academical’s success at Ibrox.

Accies climbed back off the bottom of the table with a 1-0 thanks to David Moyo’s goal following a Connor Goldson mistake.

Lennon’s reaction, which was picked up by the BT Sport cameras, was one shared by almost everyone in Scottish football.

“Hamilton?!,” he queried.

His facial expressions said it all, as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing before repeating it to make sure it really was true.

With the results, Celtic moved 13 points clear of their rivals as the pressure on Steven Gerrard and his players continues to increase.

A Rangers fan tweeted: “Tonight Lennon caught on camera laughed at us for getting beat by Hamilton at home. That’s where we are. F****** embarrassing.”

Another said: “We laughed when Celtic appointed him as manager. Now he's laughing at us, and we honestly deserve it.”

One posted: “Just shows we don’t need a world class manager, we need someone who knows what their doing and isn’t more interested in their pals feelings.”
