'Had it too easy' - Rangers boss Steven Gerrard sends EXPLICIT warning to Premiership rivals fans will love

The win took the team nine points clear at the top of the league once again, and made it nine victories from nine in Govan in all competitions this season.

Gerrard has felt clubs have not feared the trip to Ibrox in recent seasons.

In the past two campaigns St Johnstone, Hibs, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and Hamilton have all taken points from trips to Glasgow.

Gerrard, who was delighted with the debut of Bongani Zungu, has wanted that to change and the “suffocation” of Accies the latest message to opposition teams.

"We want to be a tough team to play against,” he said. “I think some opposition teams and individuals have had it too easy.

"They've come here and enjoyed themselves too much in the past. That can't happen.”

Once again, Rangers did not give up a shot on target. Accies became the eighth team to fail to test the goalkeeper. They join a list which includes Celtic, Standard Liege and Lech Poznan.

Gerrard’s men dominated the game with 77 per cent possession with more than 20 shots, 14 of which hit the target.

“This needs to be a fortress and we need to keep working towards that,” he said.

“We want to be a horrible team to play against out of possession, we want to be well organised. We want to protect our goal and our penalty box for our lives and that's what we've been doing."
