The unnamed pair will now sit out Sunday’s televised game against Rangers, as well as the subsequent SPFL League One match against Peterhead on December 5.

As a lower league club Falkirk are not required to conduct weekly testing for regular season fixtures, however it is a pre-requisite of cup competitions which involve Premiership teams who are required to perform routine tests for COVID-19.

The Bairns’ season has been affected by virus restrictions already. Earlier in the Betfred competition Kilmarnock were unable to play Falkirk in the group stage due to self-isolating squad members and David McCracken and Lee Miller’s team were handed a 3-0 win which helped qualification from the group stages to meet Steven Gerrard’s men.

Last month co-manager Lee Miller also had to watch games from home after being identified as a close contact of a family member with the virus.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 5pm.
