EPL midfielder keen on Rangers move, Old Firm get huge boost in winger pursuit, huge development over Celtic star exit, Motherwell ace wanted - Scottish Premiership Rumour Mill

There is another intriguing weekend of Scottish football action on the horizon, stretching from Friday through to Monday.

As well as league fixtures in the Premiership there is also the second round of the Scottish Cup with the 20 teams from League One and the Championship joining non-league teams with a host of exciting and interesting ties. One game that won’t be going ahead is Hearts’ match with either Brora Rangers and Camelon. Wednesday’s meeting between the sides was called off once more and it means the match is scheduled to take place in Dunipace on Saturday.

On top of it all there will be plenty of transfer activity.

Rangers and Celtic have been urged to take a “gamble” of a “few hundred thousand” on Thomas Robert before he is worth millions by the player’s agent. The French starlet has impressed at Airdrieonians in League One as he looks to follow in the footsteps of Andy Robertson. (Daily Record)

Odsonne Edouard is preparing to leave Celtic in the summer. The Frenchman has moved agents joining the Stellar Group which boasts Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish as clients. A January move is unlikely. (Scottish Sun)

Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram is keen on a move to Rangers. The player has entered the final six months of his contract with the Blades and has interest from elsewhere in the Premier League. The Ibrox side have been interested previously. (Alan Nixon)

Celtic and Rangers have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Alfie Doughty. The Charlton Athletic winger is in-demand with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Addicks boss Lee Bowyer has revealed the player won’t be signing a new deal, according to his agent. (Sky Sports)

Celtic face competition from around Europe to land Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist. The Parkhead side have reportedly watched the Swiss star in action. However, there is also interest from the Bundesliga, Eredivisie and CSKA Moscow. (Blick)

Millwall have approached Motherwell regarding the signing of Allan Campbell. The midfield powerhouse is into the final six months of his contract and is attracting plenty of interest north and south of the border, including Hibs. (Scottish Sun)

Motherwell have completed the loan signing of Liam Kelly. The goalkeeper arrives from QPR having played back-up all season. The 24-year-old moved to England after impressing at Livingston and has made 22 appearances for the London side. Motherwell lost Jordan Archer to Middlesbrough. (Various)

Nottingham Forest are keen on Celtic loanee Shane Duffy. Chris Hughton is the boss at the Championship club and the centre-back was a key player when he was Brighton manager. Duffy returned early from the club’s Dubai trip and has subsequently closed all his social media accounts. (The Scotsman)

St Mirren have struck a pre-contract agreement with Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy. The Scotland international has penned a three year deal. A deal could be done this January to bring him to Paisley. Leaving the Buddies is Junior Morias who has joined Boreham Wood for the remainder of the season. (Various)
