Castore have issued apologies to Rangers supporters over complaints regarding new club merchandise.

Fans were confused to find that there were two different locations where the home strips were made, while one was noticeably better quality than the other.

Castore have explained this was a shipping error with pro versions of the kit accidentally sent out before its August 24 release date. The standard replica was the only version supposed to be on sale at this moment.

A statement from the company posted on Twitter by Rangers SLO Greg Marshall read: "It has been brought to our attention that a small number of the pro home shirts have been dispatched early and in error through the Rangers online store (these being different to the replica shirts, which are made in Turkey).

"This shirt was released in error as the pro shirt (made in China) is not due for general release until 24th August.

"It is heartening to see that the comments are positive about both variants, however, we apologise for the confusion caused."

The Liverpool-based company have also revealed they have taken the decision to remove kids' sweatshirts from public sale after complaints over quality.

They admitted to outsourcing to another company in order to meet the demand in time for the August launch.

Castore insist refunds will be given as they issued a second apology.

"In order to meet both the high demand and short timescales required for an August release," the statement continued, "the decision was taken to outsource the manufacture of this product to a third party, which is not common practice for Castore.

"This has caused some upset amongst fans, for which we apologise unreservedly.

"This item has now been withdrawn from sale and, should a refund be required, please speak to the security staff at the Rangers store and they will allow you straight into store."
