Steven Gerrard’s side ran out 4-0 winners at The Falkirk Stadium to take the final place in the pot and were paired against St Mirren, at Paisley in next month’s matches.

But the draw paired Jack Ross with the club where he made his name as a manager and Peter Grant will be offered the chance to do an Edinburgh double after defeating Hearts in extra-time yesterday at Recreation Park.

Ross County’s reward for defeating Celtic at Celtic Park today is a trip to managerless Livingston while Dunfermline will host St Johnstone at East End Park for the chance to head to Hampden and the semi-finals next January.

The four quarter final matches will be played midweek, on Wednesday, December 16 and Thursday, December 17.
