'Balogun has shown enough to give us confidence': Rangers fans react to Steven Gerrard's team line-up in Liege

The changes were welcomed by the Rangers support who were clearly in high spirits for the match in Belgium on the back on a very pleasing Old Firm performance and result.

Injured duo Joe Aribo and Kemar Roofe travelled with the group after a training session at Ibrox yesterday and take a place on the bench which also included youth player Leon King.

@djliddle75: “Good to see Aribo back involved.”@pmw_77: Great to see Roofe back on bench. Let’s do this."

@StuartWelsh4: “Still mystified why neither Defoe or JJ in squad even allowing for restrictions. Personally JJ for Barker all day long. That said come on The Glasgow Rangers."

@CF3Loyal: “Stewart, Barjonas and King on the bench shows the challenge we have with home grown players within the squad. Having said that, great experience for young King who is a top prospect for the future.”@gordyb1872: “Good to see young Leon King on the bench.”

Some had alternative options to the manager’s selection, but few were in disagreement.@robbiejh96: “I think having Jack and Kamara works if Aribo, Hagi, Kent. Or Aribo, Arfield, Kent etc all rotate as a three. Even putting Roofe in there. Lots of options, it's nice.”@Ross90141394: “Hopefully once Zungu is up to speed it’ll be Davis and Zungu rotated, as I don’t think Kamara and Jack works as well as if Davis was beside one of them and I think Zungu swings more towards a Davis type.”

@Gazzacusgxo: “Good luck to the team!! Gotta say though that's really harsh on Helander who's been immense lately.”

@Xero1982: “Balogun has shown enough to give us confidence of freely rotating the centre halves.”@copaciousdave: “Would have liked to see Itten get a run upfront tonight with Morelos dropping out.”

Of course, there were some who didn’t miss the chance to revel in the feel-good factor from the weekend’s result too.

@BroBobbyTait: “Thought he would have rested more players. Guess they must be fresh after the easy game at the weekend.”
