'Back to last season's defending' ' At least they made up for it': Fans react to the first half Rangers 2-2 Standard Liege

Goals from Connor Goldson and James Tavernier didn’t spare the goalscorers criticism for their actions at the other end of the pitch.

Some Rangers fans were far from impressed at the defensive work of Rangers – and laid the blame for Stadard’s two goals which put them ahead twice, at the feet of the duo – who levelled for the hosts.

@jimmycake11: “Any chance of this season’s Tav and Goldson showing up please Mr Rangers?”

@telavivrangers: “Tavernier and Goldson back to last season’s defending tonight. To be fair, the entire defence has been toiling. Really stupid to fall behind again.”

@greigtaylor1: “Full defence to blame for their goals first Goldson and Barisic; second Balogun and Tavernier.”

@andyboi1873: “Dunno why Goldson stood off for their first he was full speed out to the guy then stood off and allowed the cross. Level in a match we haven't came close to being ourselves in.. find that spark and we'll win this."

There was more hope, and support amongst others.

@ryanwoods11: “Nah he’s had one tonight as has Goldson. They’re allowed an off 45 minutes , been solid at the back all season , we’ve been horrific and back on level terms.

@HazelMcArthur1: “Tav and Goldson redeem their mistakes by scoring.”

@Oneco55John: “Well at least both Tav and Goldson have made up for their mistakes ,I'd have Defoe on for Alf.”

Unfortunately for John, Jermain has not been named in Rangers’ Europa squad and it is purely domestic duty for Defoe at the moment.
