The teams have played five times this season, with Rangers recording three victories to Hibernian’s two. Can Hibernian finally end their Scottish Cup hoodoo, or will Mark Warburton lead his team to a third trophy of the season?

Probable Rangers team (4-3-3): Foderingham; Tavernier, Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace; Halliday, Holt, Zelalem; McKay, Miller, Waghorn. Subs from: Bell, Shiels, Law, Burt, Clark, Thompson, McCrorie.

Unavailable: Forrester, Templeton (injury); O’Halloran, King (ineligible); Ball (suspended).

Team news: Injuries, suspensions and ineligibility means Mark Warburton’s starting XI largely picks itself. The only possible quandary for the former Brentford boss is whether he goes with Arsenal youngster Gedion Zelalem or the experienced Dean Shiels in midfield alongside Jason Holt.

Team news: Alan Stubbs has nearly a full squad at his disposal, with Farid El Alagui and Dan Carmichael still out through injury. The return of Dylan McGeouch, who limped out of the 3-2 defeat to Falkirk, will give Stubbs a welcome selection headache in the Hibs midfield.

Key Rangers player: You could pick any one of James Tavernier, Lee Wallace, Andy Halliday or Martyn Waghorn, but we’re going with Wallace. The marauding left back has chipped in with a fair glut of goals this season and his rampages down the wing give the Rangers attack an extra dimension. Has already caused Hibs problems with his willingness to get forward and will look to do so again.

Key Hibs player: Darren McGregor arrived from Rangers at the start of the season, and the boyhood Hibs fan has become a regular starter under Alan Stubbs. Willing to throw himself in front of anything in the Hibs box, he’s also a useful quantity at set-pieces. If Hibs are to keep Rangers’ front three at bay as well as heaping pressure on Wes Foderingham and the Light Blues back four, McGregor and his defensive allies will need to be at the top of their game.
