Rangers secure work permit for Alejandro Bedoya

RANGERS manager Ally McCoist has confirmed that the club has this morning obtained a work permit for midfielder Alejandro Bedoya.

The United States international has already agreed a pre-contract to arrive in January but the Scottish champions will now attempt to broker a deal with his club Orebro to recruit him immediately.

McCoist also says Rangers are close to completing the capture of Australian Matt McKay from Brisbane Roar, with only a work permit now outstanding.

The Ibrox boss admits that their attempts to sign Roland Juhasz are now all but over after failing to agree a fee with Anderlecht.

But Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar is still a target and McCoist also refused to rule out the return of Danny Wilson on loan from Liverpool.

McCoist said: "We got good news this morning regarding Alejandro Bedoya's work permit. We got that at Hampden.

"We would hope it would suit all parties to get that deal done sooner rather than later."

On McKay, he added: "A work permit is required and we will try to get that as soon as possible. Everything else is agreed, everything is fine."

Wilson, who quit Ibrox last year for Liverpool, has revealed he would be open to a loan spell at Rangers.

McCoist said: "That's something I wouldn't rule out. Danny is a player we know very well, he is a great talent and will only get better."

However, Anderlecht have been quoted as saying any deal for Juhasz is dead after Rangers failed to match their valuation.

McCoist said: "If they're saying the deal is dead then I would probably say the deal is dead."
