Dave King and the rest of the Rangers board are fighting four former directors, including Green, along with Sports Direct and billionaire Mike Ashley, alleging the deal which signed off on the ‘naming rights’ to Ibrox was made well below market value.
Lawyers acting on behalf of the club attended the hearing on Thursday as they attempt to recover documents from Green and Ashley, along with Imran Ahmad, Brian Stockbridge and Derek Llambias.
During the hearing, Rangers’ lawyers attempted to amend the legal document, and later halted the action after advocates representing Green, Ashley and co successfully argued for more time to consult with their clients about the proposed changes.
Judge Lord Brailsford agreed that Rangers should pay the legal bills of the defenders as it was “unnecessary” for Thursday’s hearing to have taken place.
