Rangers in Europe: The season so far in pictures

Rangers were not dealt an easy hand in the Champions' League – drawing Manchester United, Valencia and Turkish champions Bursaspor in the group stages.

14 September 2010 – Manchester United v Rangers

• The Scottish champions began their European campaign in the same city they played the UEFA cup final in 2008.

24 November 2010 – Rangers v Manchester United

17 February 2011 - Rangers v Sporting Lisbon

• Rangers were handed difficult opposition in the form of Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon for their first Europa League match. The Gers took the lead in the second half, Steven Whittaker heading his side 1-0 up. It looked to be enough to secure the win until the last minute of the game, when Fernandez pounced to give Valencia a vital away goal. Picture: Ian Rutherford
