Rangers' Andy Halliday travels to Azerbaijan for loan talks

Andy Halliday is on his way to meet with officials from Azerbaijan side Gabala ahead of a potential season-long loan deal, according to reports.

Halliday was recently omitted from Rangers’ Europa League squad to face Progres Niederkorn, and it appears the midfielder is not part of Pedro Caixinha’s long-term plans.

Gabala finished second in the Azerbaijan Premier League last season and have reached the Europa League group stages in each of the past two campaigns.

Halliday joined Rangers in the summer of 2015 after leaving Bradford City. He agreed a contract extension until 2020 midway through his first season at Ibrox.
